Guest Information

You will receive an in depth information pack via email, however below is a summary of some of the most important bits.

Finding Us

Use what3words ///initiates.wishing.rivers for the carpark; this is probably the easiest way to find us. You can also use our postcode HR2 0RE. This will probably try to take you to the neighbouring farm which will give you a great view of us but won’t help you get settled in with a cold drink. So, instead of taking the right hand turn up to Cothill Farm, assuming you have come from Vowchurch, keep coming around the corner and you’ll see our sign on the left. We are a tarmac driveway flanked by reflective bollards.

EV Charging

We don't have the infrastructure to have EV Charging on-site, but the nearest charging points are available at Tesco in Hereford (HR2 7XS), the Oxford Road car-park in Hay-on-Wye (HR3 5AJ), and The Temple Bar in Ewyas Harold (HR2 0EU).

Outdoor Bathing

The Scandi Cabin, A Frame and GeoDome feature a wood-fired hot tub and the Treehouse a stunning outdoor copper roll top tub. Soak up the view from your private balcony. Don't forget your swimmers!

Water

Our water is spring fed and UV filtered. It's best to run the tap for about 30 seconds before using, this allows the water in the pipes to run through.
The UV filter runs off the solar and, even though the fresh spring water is Hereford’s equivalent to Evian, if the solar runs out please do not drink straight from the tap, it’ll need to be boiled first. There is also a bottle of water in the fridge in case you need it.

Check in / Check Out

Check in from 3.00pm and check out by 10.30am.

You will receive an email a few days before your stay with a code to access a lock box outside your chosen accommodation. If you haven't received this please get in touch before your arrival as we are not often on site and want you to be able to get settled as quickly as possible.

Pets

Well behaved pets are always welcome at The Fold in all cabins apart from the Scandi cabin, but the owner asks that guests are respectful to the space by keeping pets off soft furnishings, please be aware that any damage caused will be charged for. Each of the cabins has pet washing facilities, the A-frame can use the outdoor shower and GeoDome and Treehouse have outside belfast sinks for washing.

Livestock

Please be mindful that there may be sheep in the surrounding fields, so we kindly ask that you monitor your dog at all times to ensure their safety and that of the livestock.

Local Transport

If you are traveling by public transport, you can catch a bus to ‘Vowchurch Turn’ which is about a mile and a half from the site, or a train which will bring you to ‘Hereford’ railway station. From here you can catch a bus or taxi.

Local bus timetables can be found here.

The nearest train station is Hereford.

Local Taxi's include:

High Town Taxis - 01432 354 321

Hereford Rank Taxis - 01432 278279

Blue Line Taxis - 01432343435

Parking

After turning into The Fold, you'll find yourself in our carpark. Park up and unpack! You should see a pedestrian gate in the left bottom corner. A wheelbarrow is provided for luggage (rucksacks are recommended as is suitable footwear such as wellies or walking boots!). There is no vehicle access around the site. The three accommodations are a short walk away.

Cooking facilities

Each accommodation has a functional kitchen including gas hob, kettle and electric fridge as well as outdoor cooking including pizza oven and Kamado BBQ. Tea, coffee and sugar is provided.

Electricity

All of the electricity is provided by solar panels on each of the cabins on site. This means that it can be limited, especially in the winter months. Whilst we do our upmost to ensure there is adequate power you will need to be prudent with how you use the electricity because if the batteries run flat you will lose lighting, hot water and USB charging capability. There are monitors in the cabins which show the level of power you have, but simple things to ensure you don't run out are ensuring you turn off lights when out of the cabin and unplugging chargers once your device is charged.
